SINGLE FACER OPERATOR

REPORTING TO          : CORRUGATOR TEAM LEADER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To run the single facer machine safely and productively, producing quality board according to required standards, operating instructions and company procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Production of a continuous supply of single-face material that meets the required quality specifications.
• Timeous preparation of the machine during setup.
• Runs the machine continuously at optimum speed while meeting specified targets.
• Pre-check to ensure that the machine is in working order.
• Assist on the bridge and joints to avoid paper breaks and downtime.
• Perform and record Corrugator In-process quality checks.
• Machine waste minimization and management, including during set-up.
• Safe working procedures and reporting of all accidents and safety hazards.
• Housekeeping – Cleaning of the machine, e.g., but not limited to, Glue Unit, Bridge, Splicers, Reel tracks, Reel stands, Single Facer, starch system, machine floor area and sound enclosure.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Physical Science
• TT3 Corrugator Qualification Competencies will be an advantage
• Experience in a packaging board manufacturing environment will be an advantage
