MACHINE SPECIALIST

REPORTING TO         : ENGINEERING MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide specialist knowledge regarding the Corrugator, RDC’s and Case makers operation and maintenance to ensure effective and efficient production

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep Corrugator, RDC’s and Case makers total uptime above target
• Be able to implement continuous machine improvement methodologies
• Lead and Plan for Corrugator, RDC’s and Case makers shuts and projects
• Follow up on outstanding spares with stores and supplies
• Conduct machine quality checks as per frequencies
• Analyse daily statistics of the different machines
• Ensure cleaning of the machine and the area around (Good housekeeping)
• Putting in practice health and safety activities in the factory
• Good safety and housekeeping around the plant.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Problem solving
• Corrugator industry machinery knowledge
• Diagnose problems of corrugator machinery
• Understanding of the OHS Act
• Ability to converse well in English.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Matric or equivalent with Mechanical Trade Test
• N6 or higher Mechanical Engineering Qualification is an advantage
• Experience in maintaining packaging production equipment and/or corrugator equipment.
