PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To plan, develop and implement effective Fleet Management strategies that drives business performance and excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

RECYCLABLE MATERIAL COLLECTTIONS

• Plan and execute efficient collection routes and scheduling
• Ensure timely and accurate collections from suppliers (OTIF)
• Co-ordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues. 

FLEET MANAGEMENT

• Oversee daily fleet management and tracking
• Develop and implement scheduled maintenance programs for the Fleet and Bins
• Ensure fleet safety and compliance with regulations 

GOVERNANCE & COMPLIANCE

• Ensure adherence to quality, health & safety, and environmental policies
• Implement compliance measures to mitigate risks

PERFORMANCE MONITORING

• Develop and utilise tools to track supplier performance
• Monitor asset utilisation and optimise resource allocation
• Develop and monitor KPI’s to improve operational efficiency and manage costs.
• Analyse data to identify areas for improvement, optimise costs without compromising quality

DRIVER PERFORMANCE

• Foster a motivating work environment to improve driver productivity.
• Provide training and development opportunities.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualification in logistics and or fleet management
• 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, waste management knowledge will be an advantage
• Excellent computer skills, MS office / TRAM
• Working knowledge of occupational Health & Safety and Road Traffic (RTS regulations)
• Minimum Code 8 driver’s license.
