PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The planner is responsible for ensuring that all corrugating sites are supplied with non-recycled paper Stock Keeping Units (KUs)at all times while keeping cost under control, and ensuring all imports are reconciled and prepared to avoid excess costs at clearing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
NON-RECYCLED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
•Review execution of planned call offs for all corrugating sites and plan new call offs to ensure consistent stock availability for non-recycled SKUs in line with the stock levels determined in the paper demand forecast.
•Reconcile order books with non-recycled paper suppliers, making sure all variances are closed, and prepare 10 weeks forecast of paper stock.
•Execute strategic paper buying plans.
•Maintain high level of service with corrugating sites, including supporting or leading problem-solving w.r.t non-recycled paper.
•Support reduction of SLOBs in non-recycled paper.
•Raise purchase orders.
•Communicate making dates and potential shortfalls with back up plans to corrugators.
IMPORT MANAGEMENT
•Reconcile order books with import suppliers, agents, clearing agents, and import companies.
Update ETAs for shipments and maintain receiving capacity data to prevent overloading.
GENERAL
•Identify process gaps and implement systemic improvements.
•Problem solves process failures and implements corrective & preventative actions.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field at NQF Level 7 (preferred).
•Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination.
•Knowledge of machine scheduling and production planning principles.
•Familiarity with Kanban systems and pull-based inventory management.
•Understanding of Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodology.
•Knowledge of paper types, specifications, and their applications in corrugating operations (preferred).
•Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), and data aggregation formulas.
•Hands-on experience with procurement, capacity management, and supplier coordination.
