REPORTING TO :  HEAD OF ESTIMATING

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Analyse, correct, track and report on sales and estimating related data sets such as forecasts.  Assist with all estimating-related updates in Abaca, ad hoc reporting, gathering of tender documentation, sales analysis, and additional ad-hoc sales and estimating tasks. To maintain all estimating trackers and assist in price increase process. To act as a back-up to individual sites, accurately capturing estimates, creating pricelists, manual costings and first-offs, as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with pricing for Sheet Plants.
  • Assist with Price Increase implementations as required within the group.
  • Assist with updating cost models.
  • Assist with capturing paper price system updates.
  • General data updates, clean-ups, and integrity in the Abaca system.
  • Escalation of new business pricing & high-volume, high-value work to National Sales Administrator.
  • Serve as back-up to site estimators, when required.
  • Assist with tender requirements and manual costing sheet compilation, as required.
  • Monthly sales and estimating-related reporting – consolidating data from individual site reports.
  • Ad hoc estimating- and sales-related functions and projects.
  • On-going maintenance of all estimating project and tender trackers.
  • Monthly forecasting analysis – investigation, and reporting on all issues.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel (Intermediate to Advanced level).
  • Strong computer literacy.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum NQF Level 6 qualification in Commerce, Sales, and/or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in packaging (preferred) or manufacturing environment in an estimating role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
